This is the companion book to Because of Mr. Terupt. I believe the term 'companion book,' in this case, means that the author has used the same characters but the plot can stand on its own. You do not have to have read the first book, Because of Mr. Terupt, in order to follow this book. You can go back to older posts in this blog. I read Because of Mr. Terupt in November. I gave it 5 out of 5 stars. Like the first book, each chapter is written by one of the seven students that are in Mr. Terupt's 6th grade class.
So far in this book, the only reference to the first book was on page 14. Anna says, "As long as his [Peter's] mess-ups didn't turn into an accident like last year." I am starting to put together the storyline for each character from the last book to this one. I am excited to read this book.
