At this point in the story, it is unclear whether this is a mystery or a story about Grace's emotional trauma. There have been a few hints to the mystery/thriller that this book was marketed as, such as Grace following the scarred man. With roughly 120 pages left, the author still has time to turn this into more of a mystery.
